EVENT: ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION ON THE ROLE OF NETROOTS AND TECHNOLOGY Click to read more

posted by Adam Bink on January 15th, 2009

On Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 (day after inauguration), Mike will be
joining our friends at Netroots Nation, the Internet Advocacy
Roundtable, and Think Progress for a roundtable discussion at the
Center for American Progress on the role of netroots and technology in
the next four years. Speaking will be Mike, Amanda Terkel, Ari Melber,
and Sam Graham-Felsen, moderated by Cheryl Contee.

Space is limited, so RSVP pronto. You can RSVP to the event here, and the Facebook event listing is here.

We’ll also be selling books at the event, courtesy of Progressive
Book Club and Politics and Prose, so if you haven’t gotten your copy
yet, come on by. Mike will also be signing books after the event.

Hope to see you there.

EVENT: DRINKING LIBERALLY Click to read more

posted by Adam Bink on January 12th, 2009

We will be toasting to all the good things Mike describes in the book that
progressives have brought us- suffrage for women to Social Security,
civil rights to protecting the environment- at Drinking Liberally on
Thursday, January 22nd, from 6:30-9 pm. Mike will be regaling everyone
with stories from the book and talking about why “Big Change Moments”
happened in the past, and what it will take to get another one in the
next several years in the context of the new Obama administration.

If that’s not your cup of tea, come and drink Amstel with Mike anyway.

Because it’s inauguration week and millions of lefty drinkers will
be descending on the D.C. area, I’d encourage you to get there early to
get a good seat (and before they run out of your favorite beer).

If you haven’t gotten your copy of The Progressive Revolution yet, never fear- we’ll have a table set up with copies right there. And you can even get your copy signed by Mike, and a little beer sloshed over it for good measure.
